📖How to Play
Word Ladder is a transformation puzzle. You begin with a locked start word at the top and a locked goal word at the bottom. Fill the steps in between so that every word differs from the previous one by exactly one letter.
Every guess must appear in the game dictionary, keep the same length, and not reuse a word already on the ladder.
🎮Gameplay Mechanics
1. One Letter Rule
- Change exactly one character between consecutive words.
- Word length never changes.
2. Dictionary Check
- Invalid English (or pack) words are rejected.
- The bundled dictionary is separate from the gameplay engine and can be swapped.
3. Ladder Shape
- Start word is fixed at the top.
- Intermediate rungs are your guesses.
4. Controls
- Type a word and press Enter / Submit.
- Tap a rung to edit that step.
- Hint suggests the next solution word.
5. Win Condition
- Fill every rung with a valid chain that ends one letter away from the goal.

2. Think Vowels
- Swapping a vowel often opens new neighbors.
3. Use Hint Sparingly
- A single hinted rung can unlock the rest of the climb.
